Student International Travel Registration

Vanderbilt University works with International SOS (ISOS) to provide global assistance to its travelers overseas. By registering their Vanderbilt travel with ISOS, students can be located quickly in the event of an emergency and Intl. ISOS can provide medical and security updates. How To Register

How you register your international travel will depend on the sort of program you are participating in:

If you are a student traveling abroad on a GEO or Maymester program...

If you are an undergraduate student and applied to your program through the Global Education Office website (full list of programs), your primary travel location will be automatically registered with International SOS. You should also register your flight information and any additional trips you take while you are studying abroad as part of your program. Instructions for registration will be provided via your GEO account.

You may also supplement your registration by: downloading the International SOS Assistance App and/or signing up for email safety alerts.

If you are a student traveling independently on a Vanderbilt-sponsored activity outside of GEO or Maymester...

Undergraduate, graduate, and professional students traveling independently on Vanderbilt-sponsored activities (i.e. dissertation research, attending a conference, field school etc.) must register themselves with International SOS through MyTrips on the online portal.

If you make your airline reservation through Vanderbilt’s preferred travel agency, your flight information will automatically be added to the International SOS system, and you will be enrolled to receive the appropriate travel advisories. If you have been granted an exemption to book outside the VU travel system, please register your travel with International SOS through the VU online portal. If this is the first time you have registered, you will need to create a MyTrips account; this can also be done on the portal.
