How to Apply


Selection of students to participate in the Vanderbilt Exchange Program will be done by the home institution, subject to final approval by Vanderbilt University. As each university has its own unique internal application procedures for the nomination process, please consult with officials from your home institution. Next, please follow the instructions below to complete the Vanderbilt Exchange Student Application.

Application deadlines:

for study in the Fall semester or Academic Year: March 1
for study in the Spring semester: September 1

Application requirements

  1. Applicant must be currently enrolled in one of Vanderbilt's partner institutions below.
  2. Applicant must be nominated by their home institution to participate in the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Exchange program.
  3. Applicant whose first langugage or language of instruction is not English must provide proof of their English language proficiency (exemptions may apply). Minimum scores of 100 on internet-based TOEFL, 7.0 on the IELTS and 70 on the PTE Academic test are recommended.
  4. All application materials must be received by the deadline.

Application instructions

  1. Visit the Program Brochure page and click the "Apply Now" button on the top of the page. You will be asked to create an account, then you may select the term for which you wish to apply.
  2. Complete the application materials found on your account by the deadline.

Students: please check with your home institution for any additional requirements and submit them to your home institution before your institutional deadline.

Home institution: please notify GEO by email (attention: Incoming Exchange Coordinator) the names of the students you have nominated for exchange. During the application process, you will be asked to sign the "Incoming Exchange Study Plan Proposal" form to verify the students' eligibility with your institution.
