Some quick facts about studying abroad through Vanderbilt University:

  • Students can study abroad as early as the summer after their freshman year! Here is more information on eligibility.
  • VU financial aid applies to semester- and year-long study abroad on any VU-approved program. You can compare costs for a semester on campus and a semester on a particular abroad program here. (Fees listed are for spring 2017.)
  • With proper planning, a student with ANY major can study abroad! We even have a point person for STEM majors contemplating study abroad, and that's Isabelle Crist. The VUSE Study Abroad page is another great resource for engineering students who plan to study abroad. GEO and VUSE are also offering two VUSE study abroad information sessions in anticipation of the fair. These will be held on 1/17 and 1/18 at 5:10pm in FGH 136.
  • With GEO study abroad programs, students can earn major and minor credit abroad; grades come back and factor into the Vanderbilt GPA.
  • Deadlines for study abroad applications are in January and February, depending on the program and can be found here.
